Stryker Corporation is based in Kalamazoo Michigan and was incorporated in 1946 to develop and manufacture specialty surgical and medical products. In 2007 Stryker had revenues of $6 Billion on of Fortune 500 company With the exception of 1998 & 1999, due to the absorption of an acquisition, Stryker Corporation has met or exceeded 20% earnings growth annually since 1976. Stryker is composed of eight divisions reporting into one of two groups, Orthopedic Implants and MedSurg Equipment. Stryker Endoscopy, based in San Jose, is one of the divisions that report to the MedSurg Equipment Group

The Stryker Endoscopy Division is made up of 5 businesses, Endoscopy San Jose, Communications, GI, Imaging, and Puerto Rico. Within each company there are several business units with their own P&L. The Endoscopy Division was formed in 1986 when Stryker acquired Syn-Optics, and started to manufacture medical video cameras, endoscopes, and light sources for minimally invasive surgery. Stryker Endoscopy manufactures surgical products in San Jose, California; Flower Mound, Texas; and Arroyo, Puerto Rico. Today, Stryker Endoscopy supplies products for arthroscopy, general surgery, and surgical visualization. Product lines within those market groups include; video cameras, light sources, endoscopes, powered surgical instruments, cutters and burs, pumps, insufflators, tube sets, manual instrumentation, voice activation, digital documentation and computerized radiography.

Stryker Endoscopy continues to pursue an aggressive growth strategy that includes acquisitions, strategic partnerships and rapid new product introduction. Recent Stryker Endoscopy acquisitions include Infomedix which forms Stryker Communications and Sightline which forms GI. Stryker Communications develops, manufactures and markets booms, lights, and communication systems for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The Stryker Endoscopy Division has capitalized on the newly-formed Stryker Communications Business Unit to create a fully integrated MIS solution known as the Endosuite; an operating room specialized for minimally invasive surgery. Situation

The Stryker Endoscopy facility located in Puerto Rico is currently operating PRMS (ERP applications) and LogPro (inbound supply chain applications) on legacy AS400 systems. The Stryker Oracle Elite Project was commissioned to implement a comprehensive set of Oracle applications for the Stryker Endoscopy facility located in Puerto Rico. Other Stryker Endoscopy Business Units have previously implemented Oracle. The San Jose Endoscopy and Flower Mound based Communications Business Unit went live with Oracle in July of 2006. The GI Business Unit went live with Oracle in May of 2007 sharing the same Oracle Instance with San Jose and Communications. These businesses are utilizing 11.10i Oracle Business Suite Applications for financials, manufacturing, planning, reporting, etc
